There’s something rather special about a 14,000 strong crowd singing ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ (follow highlighted link) for the love of their City, expressing their strength and refusal to give into terrorism, it screams WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN!
Last night Four months after Manchester was hit by the horrific terror attack at The Manchester Arena on May 22nd which brought our City into mourning more bridges were built as The Arena re opened for the first time.
The concert saw Noel Gallagher headline and acts such as Courteeners, Blossoms Bugsy Malone and others take to the stage at The charity event which will fund a memorial in The City in memory of the victims of the attack.
A minutes noise, a reversal of a minutes silence erupted in The arena following Tony Walsh aka LongFella recited his poem ‘This Is The Place’ .
Peter Kay gave a heart warming speech and declared “We must not let the terrorists win”. Noel closed the show after announcing ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ as
“Some kind of anthem of defiance and every time you sing we win”
We will keep on singing!
